Corporate Classrooms Retrofit

Each of the two classrooms could accommodate 40-50 people. The classrooms had two zones: a general classroom zone and a smaller front-of-the-classroom zone that included a whiteboard and/or a video screen.

The automaker wanted to upgrade the classroom lighting, keeping everything as simple and easy as possible.

The automaker chose to work with Superior Electric and Clarus Lighting + Controls, companies they trust for most of their lighting needs.

Having worked with Cooper Lighting Solutions for many years, Clarus Lighting + Controls knew that Metalux lighting and WaveLinx CAT wired controls from Cooper Lighting Solutions would be ideal for this project.

Metalux indoor lighting is an exceptional value that helps reduce costs and energy. All of the old classroom fixtures were replaced with Metalux Achieva^TM Recessed Selectable troffers. In addition, two switchpacks were installed in each classroom to accommodate the two zones that were created. And WaveLinx CAT lighting controls were installed.

WaveLinx CAT controls were easy to commission. WaveLinx CAT wired controls are designed to be programmed and reprogrammed to make changes with ease – and without the need for an electrician.

“The clients downloaded the app and created an account. Then I showed them how to use it. If they ever want to change a scene or something else, they’ll be able to do it themselves. It’s not hard at all.”

During the job, WaveLinx CAT lived up to its reputation for flexibility. Because an existing classroom door had to be relocated to another wall, WaveLinx made it a simple matter to move the corresponding switchpack, too, without the need for rewiring.
