Reducing CO₂ emissions is a vital part of our efforts to combat climate change. Our goal is to make our 3D printing process truly circular.

Discover how we’re contributing to a better world for all of us at each stage of our sustainable production process.

Sustainable Production

Using recycled and bio-circular materials

We produce all 3D-printed parts with at least 65% recycled or mass-balanced, bio-circular plastics. Examples of bio-circular materials include tall oil from the wood processing industry and used cooking oil from the food industry. All of these materials are ISCC Plus¹ certified. We even utilize waste materials such as  recycled water jugs.

Printing local and on-demand

The luminaires you order are made especially for you. We don't keep products on stock, so we don't need warehouses that cost space and consume energy. Our 3D printing technology enables domestic manufacturing with a short lead-time, close to the jobsite.

Rejected parts are recycled by our in-house recycling unit and can be reused.

Also, compared to conventional production methods, we use up to 40% fewer components by designing products that are easier to assemble and disassemble.

Creating sustainable lighting solutions

Our extraordinary lighting solutions are designed for circularity. The focus is on energy efficiency and lifetime, as well as being connectable, upgradable, reusable, and recyclable.

And our products are lightweight. This also contributes to manufacturing, shipping, and transportation with a lower carbon footprint.

Our Commitment

Committed to Closing the loop

We’re working on serviceability programs so that customers can refresh their look without replacing their light engines. We also collaborate with a recycling company in North America to enable recycling in an environmentally safe way and prevent our products from ending up in landfill. Our products are designed to be easily disassembled, thanks to our use of no glue, no paint, no potting, and fewer screws.

Declare-Certified

All PrentaLux products are Declare-certified for full material transparency. Each PrentaLux product includes a label that provides information about the product's material contents. Declare labels disclose all intentionally added ingredients and residuals at or above 100ppm (0.01%) present in the final product by weight, which is one of the most rigorous programs on the market.
